Tour Description:
The sacred sound of Om, which governs the entire universe, is composed of five elements: “A,” “U,” and “M,” along with the nasalization (bindu) and the resonance of the sound (nada). Similarly, the temple of Omkara, representing the “Syllable Om,” comprises five distinct shrines. Within this sacred syllable, Vishnu represents “A,” Brahma stands for “U,” and Rudra-Shiva embodies “M.” The Bindu, or the completing fourth element, and the Nada, symbolizing the center of the quadrant and transcendence, complete the sacred formula.
Originally consisting of five majestic temples, only three remain today due to the area being destroyed by invaders. This walk will guide you through the three surviving Omkareshwar temples, along with visits to other significant temples in the surrounding area.
