Itinerary:
Your journey begins with a visit to Ramnagar Fort, the residential palace of the Maharaja of Varanasi. This 18th-century fort houses a temple dedicated to Ved Vyasa, the author of the Mahabharata, as well as a museum showcasing collectibles belonging to the royal family. The museum features antique manuscripts, vintage furniture, cars, royal costumes, and elephant saddles carved from silver. Your journey continues with a drive to Chunar, which is approximately an hour away from Ramnagar. At Chunar Fort, you will explore its historic structures. The fort’s history dates back to the time of Vikramaditya, whose reign was around 2000 years ago. Walk through the fort’s massive walls, bastions, and various structures, including the Rani Mahal, temples, mosques, and the residence of Warren Hastings. Admire the panoramic views of the Ganges River from the fort.
